Volunteer Training

Training Ardoch Volunteers

Each volunteer participates in 8 hours of training which aims to equip volunteers with the skills and confidence to work in a school environment.

The training covers: Ardoch's history and programs in our current social context; Ardoch's youth safe guard policy; the impact of volunteers as positive role models; effective communication skills; the roles and responsbilities of volunteers, schools and students; supporting young people with learning; and relating to young people effectively.

The volunteers are also provided with the opportunity to undertake any professional or personal development training as organised by Ardoch every 6 weeks.

Bookings for the training sessions are essential, and training follows the completion of an application form and an interview with an Ardoch staff member.
