Corporate Partners
The Ardoch Youth Foundation is expert at highlighting the importance of positive working adult role models. The impact that a corporate volunteer has on students and the wider school community is worth more than all the gold in the world!
Ardoch's experience throughout the past 20 years has recognised that large businesses and small businesses can make a difference to the lives of children in need. By contributing: people, connections, expertise, goods in kind, donations, money and advocacy together we harness much needed support to meet some of the needs of children, young people and their schools.
Involvement options include:
1. Basic needs drives to assist the Ardoch centre based programs which offer direct service and referral advice to Ardoch clients
2. Corporate volunteering opportunities in Ardoch partner schools and early childhood centre's such as:
- Lunchtime activities;
- Breakfast Clubs;
- Literary Buddies Program;
- Leadership/ Career Talks;
- School Yard Blitz (ie, painting, garden projects, cleaning)
- One-off corporate volunteer days such as Board Games afternoons, Tabloid Sports Days, Theme days such as 'Maths Day'
3. Ongoing projects for example a business with less than 30 staff have engaged in a weekly project every Friday afternoon with an Ardoch partner school less than 15 minutes from the business. Each week one group of 5 corporate volunteers ran a lunchtime activity and then provided in-class support!
Ardoch uses the following 8 step process in relation to corporate volunteering and to build a relationship with our potential corporate partners in order to make education a reality:
- We invite you to come and visit us at the Ardoch Education Support Centre.
- Representatives from Ardoch would then visit the Corporate Site to speak to the staff, or the community team and also to brainstorm further activities and raise awareness of needs in the community.
- Together we design a suitable corporate volunteering activity with the appropriate processes in place to respond to issues that might arise.
- We liaise with a contact person who might become the corporate coordinator to act as a champion and assist in project managing any activities.
- We provide comprehensive training and a pre-brief of corporate volunteers prior to the activity to ensure they understand what to do and how it will positively impact the community. This includes an outline of Ardoch's Child-Youth Safeguard Policy.
- We assist the Ardoch partner school to supervise and coordinate the corporate volunteer activity on the day.
- Evaluate the activity with all partners and provide feedback to stakeholders to raise awareness of the benefits of the activity and further needs.
- Organise next activity/ plan the next year of partnership to convert the CSR ideals into articulated business case that benefits the community.
