What Students Can Do
Secondary Students can become involved in Ardoch in many ways.
Ardoch Youth Ambassadors Project
The aim of the Ardoch Youth Ambassadors Project is to have a student representative from a number of schools to be Ardoch Ambassadors and to promote the work of the Ardoch Youth Foundation in their school community. The project provides students with the opportunity to further develop their leadership skills, communication skills and their sense of community awareness.
Louisa Macleod writes:
Why did you choose to become an Ardoch Youth Ambassador?
I chose to support Ardoch Youth Foundation because I think it is a really worthy cause. I didn't even realise that there were people suffering from homelessness and people who couldn't afford to go to school in Melbourne before my dad explained to me about Ardoch. I want to help people to learn this as well so everyone can make a difference for those less fortunate than them.
What have you done in your school to promote the work of the Ardoch Youth Foundation?
As an Ardoch Youth Ambassador I organised Julie Hilton to come and speak to my class about Ardoch and they were all very interested about what she had to say. I am now organising a stall to raise money for Ardoch at school and also a toiletries drive. I have come to the Ardoch office a couple of times to help sort out the Basic Needs Room and have also been and helped out at a kindergarten where I learnt a lot and had some fun with the little kids.
